To begin working out how long the project will take to complete, there are a few key elements that will decide the due date.
Firstly, you will need to decide how much of your garden will be converted to artificial grass. The larger the area, the greater time needed. It’s simple correlation, but it’s definitely worth mentioning! A large back garden will take much longer than a small installation in a 5x5m plot, etc.
As a rule of thumb you can expect anything under 50M2 to be completed within 1 day, 55-80M2 will be two days and then anything above 100M2 is likely to take 3+ days.
Amount of time taken depends on who is involved in the installation
The time taken to fit the grass will come down to who is fitting it. A certified professional will take much less time than if you were planning to put your DIY skills to the test. Not to mention – the finished product will likely be a lot more refined, requiring much less future maintenance.
You could of course give it a shot if you feel you are up to the task. You may save a little money, but you can guarantee that your garden will be looking like a building site for a lot longer than it needs to be! This involves removing any existing turf, adding a sub-base, installing meshing, flattening the ground with a compactor and of course, laying down the artificial turf.

But for a safe, reliable and quality finish, I would play it safe and let the experts do it.
